Summer Benefit for the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund
Last week, we spent a fantastic spring evening at the Cabanas at the Maritime Hotel for the summer kick-off event of the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund.
As we walked up the stairs to check-in, a line of Marines greeted guests and handed out miniature American flags, which we waved enthusiastically. The evening was attended by police officers, firefighters, members of the military, and lots of family and friends willing to support a fantastic cause.

2013 Rainforest Alliance Gala Cocktail Reception
I had the opportunity to attend the 2013 Gala Reception for the Rainforest Alliance, a non-profit that conserves biodiversity and sustains livelihoods. They do so by change land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior.

Young Professionals Party at LAVO for Silver Hill Hospital
Last week, influential young professionals gathered at LAVO in support of Silver Hill Hospital for their first annual Young Professionals Fundraising Benefit.
Dr. Sigurd Ackerman, President and Medical Director, of Silver Hill Hospital welcomed the over 130 guests in attendance, and steering committee member, Jaime Gleicher, gave a moving speech about her own personal experience at SHH. The 2013 Taste of Tribeca
Taste of Tribeca is a one-of-a-kind outdoor culinary festival that celebrates downtown local flavor. Now in its 19th year, this highly regarded annual event raised funds for education. The proceeds from the event went towards ensuring the continuation of arts and enrichment programs at local public schools, PS 150 and PS 234 (Mo’s elementary school).

El Museo del Barrio Annual Gala
El Museo del Barrio held its annual gala in New York City. The Gala honored actor Raúl Esparza with the Excellence in the Arts Award, Ramiro Ortiz Mayorga with the Trustee Leadership Award, and Ricardo Villela Marino, CEO, Latin America Banco Itaú Unibanco with the Corporate Excellence in the Arts Award. Jacob’s Cure “Dream Big” Gala Hosted By Sherri Shepherd
Jacob’s Cure is a non-profit foundation dedicated to raising the funds necessary to cure Canavan disease, a fatal genetic brain disorder that affects children at birth. Because of an enzyme deficiency, an acid in the brain accumulates to dangerous levels causing catastrophic effects to the normal formation of myelin (white matter) in the brain that is responsible for transmitting nerve impulses from one part of the body to another. Wine Enthusiast’s 25th Anniversary Red and White Bash
To celebrate 25 years of ongoing success, Wine Enthusiast Magazine threw an epic Red and White Bash at the Hudson Hotel with wine free-flowing the entire evening. In addition to the abundance of delicious wines, food, live music and entertainment, 100% of the ticket proceeds went to benefit Wine to Water, a charity bringing clean drinking water to developing countries.
