Whitney Art Party

June 17th & 19th: I woke up this morning in my cocktail dress and pumps from last night asking myself “What have I been doing for the past week?”
Tuesday, I was able to check out the Whitney Art Party. Great location, beautiful decor, disappointing gift bags, high profile, and fun. There was an auction for future young leaders and patrons who will carry on the Whitney’s critical mission of supporting American art. You can still bid on pieces on their website by clicking here.
And last night I was able to go to an amazing party at the Edison Ballroom. Event planners take note; the Edison Ballroom is a great upscale 17,000 square foot space. The ballroom has room for 500 banquet-style or 1,000 for receptions; it seats 700 theater style and contains a 600 square foot stage.
The party was amazing! It went from 6pm-11pm; that is 5 hours of a full open bar and excellent passed hors d’oeuvres. There was a really good cover band that played the best of the 70’s (for you old timers) for about the first two hours of the event. Later the DJ came out and I danced the night away.
Highlights of the event included the popcorn machine, friendly staff, great atmosphere, post party ice cream truck, and the cutest elderly couple who were out on the dance floor all night.
Below are some pictures I took of Whitney and Edison (only 1).
Cheers,
