Tuesday Party Circuit

June 24th: Complete clusterfuck on the New York party circuit yesterday. Saw repeat people at the Gradient Magazine launch, Hamptons book party and Tenjune all in one Tuesday night. Started at the downtown W Hotel for Gradient. At the door, the girls ahead me were not on the guestlist but dropped the fact that they had just attended the Chloe and Reese trunk show, which ushered them in.
The interior was distinctly hotel lobby like (turns out it was the sales office) but still beautifully decorated with gorgeous people: Sky Nellor, Sue Stemp, Alvin Valley, Kristian Laliberte and Marisa Anshutz. Spent a good portion texting Mo who was at the Art of Elysium benefit and then taking work calls outside (so pathetically uncool).
Moseyed up to 1Oak for the launch of “How the Other Half Hamptons” by Jasmine Rosemberg, a delightful chick lit book made for the beach. The Shadow PR girls handled the door superbly to ensure the inside was crowded yet breathable. Saw a few guests from the Gradient party such as Doug Marshall from Guest of a Guest.
Jesse Marco DJ’d, and the party was swag success with gift bags of makeup by Bourjois, earrings from Jill Jacobson and a bag by Fergie for Kipling.
Met some of the illustrious 1Oak team: Adam Alpert, event manager and lovely Sherry, table manager.
After the party ended, 1Oak went back to its fierce reputation as evidenced by the line of hopeful partiers which I saw when I grabbed my roommate. Later, she went outside to get her friend in, to which the bouncer responded,“You barely got in, you expect to get him in?” Ouch.
We took him instead to Tenjune for its infamous Tuesday nights and reliable fun. Despite no actual event occurring at TJ’s, several 1Oak party goers had the same idea so I got a second dance with the Shadow PR girls and Micah James.
