July 1st: Think, Play, Teach, Dream, and Let Go were the themes fashion photographers created visual interpretations for the “This World is Yours” event. The cocktail party was presented by Volkswagen, Fame Game, and Zink Magazine, which took place at the Red bull Space last night. “This World is Yours” was an exhibit set up to promote new experimental fashion photography from emerging artists.
A Volkswagen Tiguan Compact Sports Utility vehicle was incorporated into the red carpet aligned with photographers waiting to snap your picture. Walking in to the Red Bull Space, I was greeted and given a chance to choose a velcro bracelet provided by BurdaStyle.com with one of the five themes. Mo chose “Play” (naturally). Each image had its own red carpet. Two flat screen monitors had “the rules,” which asked partygoers to take a picture in from of their favorite image while a “ticker tape” kept track of the images that were gaining the most “social capital” from the VIPs in attendance.
One particularly great piece was “Play” a project created by photographers Michael Scott Slosar and Jose Serrano-Reyes, and produced by Gregory Littley.
The event featured more than 400 rising stars in media , art, fashion & society. Noteworthy attendees were pulitzer prize-winning photojournalist Edward Keating, Zink editor/publisher Sheriff J. Ishak, media personalities Julia Allison, Meghan Asha, Mary Rambin, Annabel Vartanian, photographers Amber Gray Clayton Cubitt, fashion industry connector Tina Keyes, and DJ Eclectic Method spun beats. Also spotted the Project Runway Austin Scarlett.
There were fantastic Red Bull and Trump Vodka cocktails flowing as well as a Cohete Rum mixed with Red Bull Cola. All in all, it was a fabulous event filled with beautiful people.
Cheers,
Mo
Special Thanks to Gregory Littley
