Fashion Rocks Pre-Party

September 4th: I attended the Fashion Rocks pre-party at Mansion sponsored by Conde Naste. When we pulled up, immediately spotted a large number of camera men surrounding Zachary Levi (NBC’s Chuck). There was an extremely tight door policy, but luckily we were escorted inside to find amazing Hibicus flower cocktails being handed out by waiters at the front bar.

Directly across the bar were women modeling all of Kohl’s fall fashions. I have to admit, I happened to like the way the clothes were presented and I had my eye on a cute pencil skirt. The set-up was done exactly as the photo shoot was set up to shoot the fall print campaign.

Once inside the main part of Mansion, I immediately spotted Ms. Jay Alexander from America’s Next Top Model seated on some white leather couches close to the stage. Ms. Jay was wearing a blue button up with a very large bow and skinny skinny white jeans. Next to him, on a separate couch set-up were Isaac and Taylor Hanson from the mid-90’s band Hanson. Had this been 1994, there would have been a bigger crowd around them for sure.

The event space was amazing with crystal disco balls hanging from the ceiling, flower arrangements in bright pinks and purples and pictures of models everywhere. The main event stage was set up for the performance of the Pussycat Dolls, which was a ton of fun! They had incredible energy on stage and looked super cute. They sang about 4-5 of their main hits, and a few songs I had never heard.

After the performance was over, the place started filing out slowly. I spotted some kids from My Super Sweet Sixteen season one as I exited out of the front doors. The red carpet was emptied by now but the fashion week had just begun.
