Jordi Scott Fashion Show

September 12th: Out of all the fashion shows that we’ve attended, I finally had the opportunity to interview one of the designers up close and personally. Meet: Jordi. A fun, loving punk rock girl, she once worked for Betsey Johnson’s design team and then decided to take matters into her own hands, thus creating Jordi Scott. She works closely with colleague and friend, Starr, together ready to take on the fashion industry by storm.
I asked her what inspired her collection, and from fashion it turned political. She noted that with gas prices increasing, hard economic times, and people outraged by these atrocities, it’s becoming like the 70s/80s era of grungy punk rock and rebellion. As the economy tends to be cyclical, so is fashion – why not return to the era of bright, flashy colors, bold prints, and defiant attitudes?
The show kicked off with a performance by Des Roar, who rocked out with the appropriate super star attire. As the models took the runway, you could tell that they all embraced the theme of the rebellious punkster, even just by observing the way they walked, posed, or spun to turn around. With such daring wardrobe, you need the accompanying fearless attitude to complete the look. Along with the bold colors, you can tell Jordi loves leopard print. Big time!
While the Arena Event Space is prety lage, Jordi Scott packed a huge house for a highly successful show. Guests enjoyed the open bar by Bulldog Gin, with other sponsors including Monster energy drink, Equinox, Make Up For Ever, Fresh, and Pure Yoga.
Pardon me while I change into my leather jacket and lip-sync to the Ramones.
Yours,
Von
