September 15th: Thrilled that Fashion Week was finally over I headed down to Mansion for the unveiling of the Sony VAIO My Graphic Splash Contest. Judges included artist Maya Hayuk, and Lauren Conrad of MTV”s the Hills and Laguna Beach. The public was asked to design covers for the laptop using original artwork. The winners’ designed were displayed in a runway show that included America’s Next Top Model winner Jaslene Gonzalez. Thousands entered and the contest was narrowed down to three winners who received a free Sony VAIO laptop with their design on the front, a vacation, and $5,000 all to be presented by Mike Abary, Senior Vice President of Sony’s Information Technology Products Division. What did Mo get?

Nada!

I walked in and grabbed drink and enjoyed cocktails with techie names like the Vodka current, and to my delight that vodka was Belvedere. Sony VAIO laptops displaying the top 10 finalists’ designs aligned the runway. I nibbled on some tasty hors d’oeuvres like mini veggie spring rolls, and risotto balls until the runway show began. Models then walked the catwalk in colorful body paint holding the artistic creations. Then the judges came out and presented the gifts to the three lucky and very talented winners.

Now I must say that although I am slightly ashamed to admit it I love the Hills. I am kind of addicted to it. I have also been a fan of Lauren’s sine she was on Laguna Beach and I was excited to see her in person. Observing her she seemed to be very nice. She smiled a lot and also seemed to be a little shy and reserved.

It was a nice event to start the week off with. It was a great event, friendly staff, and I always have a great time at Mansion. For more information on the contest check out vaiomygraphicsplash.com

Cheers,
