Happy Birthday Diddy!

November 5th: Last night at Mansion Diddy and 500 of his closest friends celebrated his 39th birthday and, most importantly, the outcome of the most important presidential race of our generation. It was time to celebrate change: Ciroc flowed as Mo went to her 1st Diddy party!!! Notable guests included Tracy Morgan, Jay-z, Common, Ben Stiller, Ice-T, Coco, Mary J. Blige, Cassie, Cedric the Entertainer, Ne-yo, Rebecca Gayheart, and the very talented, and the hardest working DJ in show business… DJ Cassidy!

Diddy arrived at the party a half an hour before it started to make sure everything was set up to his standards. Most of you out there have to be aware of the fact that no one throws a party like Diddy, so he had to ensure that everything was perfect. Diddy even kicked out early party-goers who did not abide by his dress code. No Jeans, no sneakers, no do-rags. I got this tidbit from a guest standing next to me in line who went home to change! A Diddy party is not to be missed.

I walked into the venue and I was excited.  I am not much of a club-goer (it’s either events, or find me at my local dive bar), but I thinkMansion is a great event space. I walked into the venue and was greeted by drinks like the Ciroc Obama (Ciroc, Chambord, and lemonade), Ciroc Chic (Ciroc, cranberry juice, and pinapple juice), Ciroc Royal Grape (Ciroc, white grape juice), and the Ciroc Diddy (Ciroc and lemonade).

The crowd was a mix of industry folks (music, fashion, entertainment, etc), and Diddy’s special VIP friends. Diddy definitely went all out with go-go dancers (who seemed to be dressed in toilet paper), women swinging from the ceiling on draped cloths, and beats provided by the fabulous DJ Cassidy, who’s beats are always on point.

Diddy an avid open supporter of Barak Obama chose to have the venue decorated with images of our new president elect. He even set up two monitors that played Obama’s past speeches and appearances, oddly intermixed with Ciroc commercials.

There were no hors d’oeuvres, so people were getting pretty drunk and sloppy as the night went on. And the party went on ALL NIGHT! I have no idea what time I got home. It was a very upscale crowd; guys were picking up girls left and right. Except for Mo. On my way home, a homeless guy asked me for $1, and then asked if he could walk me down the street.  :(

Nonetheless, it was a great event! Happy Birthday, Diddy!

Cheers,

Mo
