Wednesday night I found myself at an event held by Elite Model Management. There was something about this event that reminded me of fashion week parties. There were nothing but models and to a normal girl it is a slight shock to ones self esteem to be surrounded by gorgeous tall slender people. However on the other side it is great because as the old stereotype goes models don’t really eat..so more for Mo! The event was a fundraiser that  featured Kahuna Longboards that were customized by top models from Elite Model Management. Which is something I found to be pretty cool, and the charity was Women In Need.

The event was held at the rooftop of Lord and Taylor which is a great space. In retrospect I don’t know what I was thinking going to a rooftop party in the pouring rain, but when there is a party involved nothing will stop me! Luckily by the time I got there the rain had stopped and people were having drinks on the rooftop. Waiters served up shrimp and chicken skewers, and probably the worst hors deouvers I have ever had in my life-guacamole in a mini pie crust (it is about as appetizing as you would imagine). I made the rounds checking out the crowd which was made up of of models and the men who love them older high rolling businessy guys.

However it was a nice event, and it became better when a band (who’s name escapes me) came out and performed. The energy of the event definitely picked up. I also checked out the longboards which seemed to be pretty cool and despite the fact that I wanted to hate them I actually liked them. The event was pretty low key so after a quick lap it was off to the next event.
