Like most of you out there we here at Socially Superlative like food. It is good for you, if you don’t eat you may die and that’s no good. Happily in honor of the Fancy Food Show, Food Fete held an event that celebrated…err..food. Many came out for the event including Martha Stewart Living, O Oprah’s Magazine, BusinessWeek, Food & Wine magazine, SELF, Newsweek, Men’s Fitness. The event featured as artisanal chocolates, sauces, condiments, natural and organic foods, artisanal cheeses, snacks, desserts and beverages of all types. Yum!

We sampled, we mingled, and below are 5 favorites:

  • Señor Sangria (of course a sangria is one of our top picks!Hello): It is inexpensive and Classic Red is the only premium bottled sangria on the market. It is well balanced and we like!
  • The Cheese Ambassador (they offered a fantastic selection of gourmet cheese)The Cheese Ambassador Cheese Collections offer the perfect combination of the most exquisite cheeses from around the world. And with comprehensive guide featured inside the package, you can learn about the cheeses and serving the cheeses plus choosing beverages and accompaniments to enhance your cheese experience.
  • 21ST Amendment Brewery (who showcased a surprisingly good watermelon flavored beer): This San Franciso-based brewery recently introduced their craft beers in a can to the East Coast: Brew Free!  Owners Nico Freccia and Shaun O’Sullivan founded the company to celebrate the right to brew beer, the freedom
to be innovative, and the obligation to have fun.
  • Popchips (Light crispy almost guilt free): Popchips are an all-new, all-natural line of popped chips with all the flavor and less than half the fat of fried chips. popchips, inc. was formed in 2007 to bring new flavor and real innovation to the snack aisle. Thanks to magic of popping, popchips offers a snack so tasty and crispy that you won’t even notice it’s (we hesitate to say) healthier.
  • Organic Nectars (raw, vegan, and yummy!): Organic Nectars is a multi-award winning creator and producer of deliciously healthy alternative versions of our favorite conventional snacks. They create some of the most
decadently delicious sweets and treats using only certified organic, kosher and vegan ingredients and ‘raw’ food processing techniques. All products are completely free of dairy, soy, gluten, refined sugar, GMOs, cholesterol and trans fats and are virtually free of saturated fat. And best of all, they’re incredibly decadent and nutritious.
  • The Sweet Potato Project (According to the Rep this is Barak Obama’s favorite pie): This may rival your Grandma’s Pie! Eat dessert first! Addie’s Fine Foods and The Sweet Potato Project are baking up sweet success with the health benefits of sweet potatoes and the Children’s Heritage Foundation. Rich in Vitamin A and beta-carotene.

Cheers,

Mo
