The fourth annual Young Friends of Mount Sinai Fall Fete to benefit The Mount Sinai Visiting Doctors Program. An evening featuring cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, music, and a fabulous silent auction.
This year funds raised by Fall Fete will support The Mount Sinai Visiting Doctors Program. Started in 1995 by young physicians who wanted to restore idealism to the care of patients, The Mount Sinai Visiting Doctors Program has grown into the largest academic home-based primary care program in the nation. The mission of The Visiting Doctors Program is to provide high-quality, patient-centered primary and palliative care to homebound patients in Manhattan, offer emotional support and social services to the families and caregivers of homebound patients, and provide education and experience in home care to medical students, residents and fellows. Currently The Visiting Doctors Program is comprised of thirteen physicians, two nurse practitioners, three social workers, two registered nurses and administrative staff who provide care to over 1,000 homebound patients in Manhattan every year.
The Young Friends of Mount Sinai is an organization of men and women in their 20′s and 30′s dedicated to supporting Mount Sinai and interested in current issues in healthcare, medical treatment, and scientific research and advancement both at Mount Sinai and beyond. The Young Friends of Mount Sinai, led by an Advisory Board, are granted inside access to cutting edge discoveries in the medical field through numerous educational and social events, and also participate in annual fundraising events to benefit a specific department or organization within Mount Sinai.
