Maccabi NY Presents: Fashion Rocks!

Maccabi NY Young Leadership Committee, a group of up-and-coming professionals, turned Tenjune into a catwalk for the night with hot models, fashion, and sexy lingerie! Fashion Rocks featured beautiful pieces from Alexander Wang, Catherine Malandrino, Bill Blass, Paul Smith, Erin Fetherston, Top Shop, Kimberly Taylor, with America’s Next Top Models from cycle 13, Jennifer An, Lisa Ramos, Ashley Howard, and Lulu Braithwaite. Jenna Leigh lingerie was also featured, with loads of googly male eyes following them across the runway.
The event was to benefit the Maccabi World Union (MWU), the largest and longest-running Jewish sports organization since 1895 that leverages sports to create Jewish humanitarian programs and educational opportunities worldwide. The lead sponsor, Beezag helped make this special night of fashion happen, along with StyledOn, Ronit, SBE Entertainment Group, and Curtis & Co., who donated watches for each model to sport as they hit the catwalk (including their signature Red Big Time Air Watch, a unisex model and Curtis’ most popular collection). A $1,500 watch was raffled off to one lucky winner!
The evening had potential to go disastrous: the club was packed with so many people that there was no room for the runway! The models had planned to walk down the center of the floor and circle back around on the uppper level. The bouncers were trying to get people to back off from the railing, but as soon as one set of people cleared out, another group stepped in the middle of the faux runway. At the last minute, the original runway path was cut down to a 20-foot walkway down the center of the floor. At about 10 seconds per model, the show was slightly shorter than anticipated, but at least they solved the problem. The show must go on!
However, the models looked great and the clothing so beautiful. They should’ve saved the busty lingerie models at the end for a stunner of a finale, but regardless, everyone was in awe.
Co-chairs of the NY committee, Michael Doustan and Dina Kadisha, were the Master and Mistress of Ceremonies. Additionally, the fashion show was styled by Leora Kadisha, CEO of the new and quickly growing fashion/lifestyle Web site StyledOn, who is looking forward to working with the supporting designers Jenna Leigh and Jovani. Guests enjoy an open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres and cupcakes compliments of Baked by Melissa.
I daresay this was the only fashion event I’ve been to where there were more males than females! Definitely a good event in lieu of Jdate, if you get bored of the online scene.
Yours,
Von
