Fried chicken wings, fatty dips, and greasy pizzas describe the traditional Super Bowl Sunday meal. According to nutritionist Tanya Zukerbrot, the typical Super Bowl party-goer consumes 1,300 calories through food alone- not including beer, soda and wine.
On Sunday February 7th, Alloro Restaurant is proud to present a “Non-Traditional” Super Bowl evening of wellness for football fans and non-football fans alike. Instead of feasting on junk food, Alloro is offering fresh, homemade Italian.
The restaurant is also partnering with the Spa at the Surrey Hotel which will offer customers 20% discount cards to use on spa services and the New York Sports Club on 76th Street will offer 3 day and 1 week passes to dinner guests.
While the Super Bowl will NOT be available for viewing at Alloro, the creative Italian restaurant will open up early for those who want to eat quality food and still catch the game. “We want everyone to celebrate wellness and healthy food at Alloro on Super Bowl Sunday,” says owner Gina Rotundo. “Football fans can come eat early and then leave to catch the game. Non-football fans can come for a great night out on the town without all the craziness of sports bars and other restaurants. We have something for everyone.”
Diners can also score 2 for 1 drink specials all night on Alloro’s exclusive Clementine Negroni, a specialty Italian cocktail that contains bitters which are great for the liver and Clementines, a great anti-oxidant. Unlike the frozen, packaged food served at super bowl parties, Alloro will offer fresh, homemade specialties such as Black Cod over saffron sauce with drizzled red wine reduction, porcine mushrooms and croutons or Tonnarelli tossed in pecorino cheese and black pepper with lime-marinated white shrimp. After all, you fumble footballs but you shouldn’t fumble with your health.
