Savoir Beds Recreated Duran Duran’s “Girl Panic” Video for Fashion Week

SAVOIR Beds Creative Director Roger Ericson welcomed over 300 fashionistas and tastemakers to the British luxury brand’s SoHo Showroom in NYC on February 10th for a night of Rock n’ Roll, Beauty, Style and Comfort.  The special evening paid homage to Duran Duran’s infamous “Girl Panic!” video, which co-starred super models Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford, Yasmin Le Bon and Eva Herzigova and was shot at The Savoy Hotel’s Royal Suite in London on a $72,500 SAVOIR Bed.

Five models cat-walked in KiKi de Montparnasse lingerie and Swarovski jewels in the showroom’s windows at 28 Wooster Street.  Voyeurs watched from the outside, while invited guests including interior designer Geoffrey Bradfield, Cassandra Seidenfeld, Jean Shafiroff, Leesa Rowland, and Larry Wohl, Nancy Silberkleit, Justin Mitchell, Robin Cofer, Matt Sandy, Elaine Sargent, fashion designer Maggie Norris and artists Collette and Diane Birch sat on hand-crafted English made SAVOIR Beds while sipping martinis inside while the Savoy Hotel choice Meridian speaker system pumped out the Duran Duran hits.  A projection of the original “Girl Panic” video played inside on one of the showroom walls for guests to watch, while the models re-imagined scenes from it in live action.

The night served as a benefit for Harboring Hearts during American Heart Month with a portion of the proceeds aiding the charity that provides heart patients and their families with support through a home-like haven and a nurturing community of resources.

This was the first of a series of fashion events, which will take place at SAVOIR’s showrooms across the globe with Delhi, India up next during Lakme Fashion Week in March.  Future plans for SAVOIR Beds include design projects with some of the world’s leading fashion and interior designers.

More on SAVOIR Beds:

Representing the most luxurious bed company in the world, SAVOIR Beds date back to 1905, owned and operated by the famous luxury hotel as Savoy Bedworks for their hotel guests to sleep on these opulent beds., the beds remained a product of the Savoy Hotel until 1998 when the brand gained its independence.   SAVOIR BEDS then began serving hotels and interior designers from its West London showroom which, together with the London W1 showroom (opened in 2003) until recently was one of only two locations where these beds could be purchased.  Over the past two years the brand has exploded with showrooms popping up in major cities like Berlin, Paris, Prague, Shanghai, New Delhi and the 2010 opening in New York.  The beds of the Savoir standard collection range in price up to $72,500, each one tailor-made to suit each customer’s particular height, weight and style.  Fans of the bed include Liza Minnelli, King Hassan of Morocco and Princess Yasmin Aga Khan; actress Emma Thompson even claims the beds cured her insomnia.
