TOY Restaurant’s Grand Opening

After a summer of soft opening parties, TOY at the Gansevoort Hotel in the Meatpacking District is officially open for business. Co-owners China Grill Management and Daniel and Derek Koch (famed for their Day & Night brunches) threw a celebrity-studded Grand Opening party on Friday, September 14th while E! was filming their new reality show with celebrity chef Todd English.

Bubbly Moët & Chandon flowed freely as DJ Samantha Ronson entertained a chic crowd including her mother and designer Ann Dexter-Jones, Ice-T and Coco, Mick Rock, Chris Benz, RHONJ’s Chris Manzo, hotelier Ian Schrager, as well as rumored appearances by Jonathan Cheban, Tinsley Mortimer, and Ralph Lauren model Chris Collins, among many other NYC nightlife elite.

Guests were treated to live entertainment from burlesque dancers and suspended aerialists decked out in bedazzled bodysuits throughout the evening. Delicious passed hors d’oeuvres and mega boats full of TOY sushi presented by the twins kept the crowd partying hard. Naturally, in true Day & Night style, fiery sparklers accompanied the sushi boats.
