Crack the Case: Heineken and James Bond Take Over NYC’s MTA Museum
Filed under Event, Food & Beverage, Media & Music, Review
Jeweled in Heineken emerald, the entry carpet of the Heineken sponsored Crack the Case (#HeinekenCTC ) event was ever so quaint. Invited guests looked relaxed and cool in their urban chic apparels making what would appear to be an ordinary New York subway entrance into the entryway of Taj Lounge.
Entrancingly accessorizing the green carpet were the likes of pleasant playboy Adrian Grenier of Entourage, sultry Denise Vasi of Magic Mike, and The Adjustment Bureau’s mirthful Anthony Mackie. Monday night was set to become well shaken rather than stirred underground with 007 and all of the machismo that goes with.
After gracing the Heineken green carpet and descending into the NYC MTA Transit Museum, you were greeted by pleasant staff members lushed up to be ever so dashing and delightful in their themed garb.
Upstairs, much like most subway stations, were odes to the MTA of yore. Entry booths, time lines, and EUREKA! There are bathrooms underground. Clean and well lit, no less. Who knew?! 007 truly knows how to pick his locales well!
Heading further under the streets of New York City, the true gorgeousness arrive on both the uptown and downtown platforms. Decommissioned subway cars decked out in 007 fashion, casino tables, faux fur, chandeliers, boxed Chinese noodle appetizers, models, Heineken Dark Lager, retired NYPD security detail. It’s not everyday that you can send Russia your love from a New York MTA vintage train car. Jewel encrusted skull, anyone? Double oh hell yeah!
The DJs, DJ D-Nice and DJ Wonder, were well behaved on the turntables and there was not a New York rat in sight. There was only one screen which ran the 007 trailer, but the image was enough to grab attention for the 30 second presentation.
The Heineken Dark Lager went rather quickly, yet their regular brew was a very decent substitute and they even had commissioned a limited edition 007 Heineken bottle.
Cheers to the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority, Heineken & wonder man himself, 007, for putting together such a jazzy event. Undo those bow ties fellows … job well done.
