VICE Screening of Chasing Mavericks + Cocktail Party
This Monday 10.22, VICE is hosting an advanced screening and party for the new film Chasing Mavericks right over at Nitehawk Cinema in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The movie is based on the true story of how surf-phenom-to-be Jay Moriarity wanted to tackle the mythical, giant waves off the Santa Cruz coast and enlisted the help of local legend Frosty Hesson to train his ass off in order to survive some of the biggest waves on earth.
Starring Gerard Butler, Elisabeth Shue (Back to the Future, Karate Kid and just about every rad 80s teen flick) and newbie Jonny Weston who plays the lead role of Jay Moriarity, it’s going to be one of the top surf films you need to catch this month. But if you don’t want to wait till October 26th for the film to come out, and you happen to live in the NYC area, then you really have no excuse not to come out and hang with us this Monday night.
