305 Makes a Splash in the 212: Introducing Miami’s GG ART
The Venezuelan born, Miami notorious, grunge pop artist, GG has landed the opportunity to paint the concrete jungle with his famed art that is celebrated in the 305 – Miami.
On October 24, at Contest Rock Hair, GG had his opening night introducing the city to his two collections: the Artist Tribute Series and Camo Series, which was in collaboration with Grungy Gentlemen. GG is one of Miami’s youngest artists, owns about 10 walls in Wynwood, and has finally made it north, to NYC – an exciting moment for a dreamer, a hustler and an artist.
His art will be on display and for sale at Contest Rock Hair from October 26 to December 8, and are flying off the walls. When speaking to the artist, I asked what he loved most about finally showing his talents to New York and he responded, “It’s an amazing opportunity, for which I am thankful for. It made my vision of where I can take my work expand greatly.” Que cute! (Translation from Spanish: How cute.)
Guests that attended were offered special discounts on hair services, enjoyed sips of fancy wine while DJ AnaMated, another Miami native, kept the evening upbeat with her funky fresh sounds, and were able to personally meet, GG. GG will be visiting NYC soon, in hopes of also introducing his fashion line, Fresh Paint – only for the ‘outkasted’ so fresh n’ so clean, clean fashionista.
Special thanks to Contest Rock Hair and Grungy Gentlemen for their generous support in the art community!
