September 4th: Just in time for fashion week, Expose debuted their exclusive new show for emerging fashion brands to showcase their Spring 2009 collections to a guest list that included some of the industry’s top editors, stylists, and buyers. The show was held at a midtown loft on 5th Avenue.
This event was created to expose the media and buyers to a group of amazing collections from all over the world that they wouldn’t normally get to see. The showcase was made up of 12 designers spaced throughout the loft so guests could leisurely stroll through venue while sipping wine, compliments of the Robert Hall Winery, and enjoying adorable miniature cupcakes from Babycakes NYC.
The classy loft environment and relaxed setting made it effortless for designers to provide each of the guests an intimate face-to-face look at their latest collections. The event showcased a baker’s dozen of diverse collections from all over the world including: Le Doux Swimwear (Brazil), Ana Pires (Italy), Shadows and Dust (Australia), Good Life (LA), Yeojin Bae Designs (Australia), Levi Okunov (New York), Jerome C. Rousseau (LA), Oliver Goldsmith (UK), and Yansi Fugel’s TravelJersey Collection (NY). Designers Against AIDS acted as a charitable beneficiary and House of Bastion, most notable for being the designers behind the auctioned Flower Ring in Sex in the City, was also in attendance to show off their upcoming Spring collection.
These were all incredible labels, but I must say I left the event a hardcore fan of one particular amazing collection. I fell in love with the Priestess NYC collection, as well as its designer Cody Ross. The line is a little flirty, super versatile, and very chic. Look for Priestess NYC in stores like D-Mop, Podium, Colette, TG-170, Lane Crawford, Barneys, WeOneYouTwo, Sucre, and the Priestess NYC showroom in the West Village (West 4th +West 11th).
Overall, Expose threw an amazing event. I was even lucky enough to take home a goodie bag compliments of b.happybags and Watergeeks Technologies.
