July 22nd: When happens when you have 20+ socialites drum up ideas? A rooftop party, five pound gift bags, a reality show taping, decadent passed chocolates, complimentary massages, and an after party at the latest meatpacking hotspot with complimentary bottle service. Like proper socialites, they partied in the Hamptons at the Social Life Estate over the weekend, but came back Tuesday night to New York.
Both parties celebrated the official launch of Hamptons Undercover, “an exclusive social networking website for jetsetters who summer in or visit the Hamptons.” The portal offers an array of services, such as the ability for members to share rides or utilize concierge service.
At Tuesday New York party on Highbar’s rooftop, I immediately spotted the main host, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, who will be starring in the second season of Bravo’s Real Housewives of NYC with costars Ramona Singer and Alex McCord (with infamous hubby/manfriend Simon). Other attendees sipped Svedka cocktails and relax with a hand massage by Townhouse Spa. The crowd hit its peak around 7:30pm when the cameras started taping the girls for next season’s show.
I took the opportunity to grab a gift bag and slip out of the sweltering rooftop for a quick dinner break (didn’t want to start the next round of drinking on an empty stomach). The giftbags were like mini Christmas. I unwrapped mine to find Gradient and Quintessentially magazines, Hint Water, Godiva chocolate pearls, Alterna hair products, a year’s supply of Pantina makeup, Tarte eyeshadow, Terralina lotion, Gilt Groupe invitation, Intermix, Townhouse Spa, Unruly Heir and Luxe Link coupons.
Dragged the heavy gift bag down to Bijoux which is being run by the owners of the defunct PM. I chuckled when I saw the location-the PM guys only moved across the street to the downstairs of Merkato 55! It’s nice they were forced to move; PM surprisingly maintained a hot crowd, but it’s always more exciting to ADHD New Yorkers to freshen up the decor.
Bijoux radiated sexiness with black walls and low ceilings. Hamptons Undercover added a fun touch with scattered beachballs and complimentary bottle service. Really, every single table had a gorgeous bottle of Christiania Vodka which a waitress would uncork immediately upon you sitting down. The Christiania was deliciously smooth and the service was impeccable.
Thank the seasoned pros, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Coralie Charriol-Paul, Olivia Palermo, etc. for bringing it all together. These socialites certainly prove that some are just better at partying.
