March 17th: St. Patrick’s Day may not actually mean anything in Ireland, but for us in NYC and the entirety of the US, it means that we all don green and pretend we are all Irish for one day of getting shwasted. 1 Hanson Place is notorious. The infamous clock tower building in Fort Green has been a guiding locals around the neighborhood for decades. In the former bank, at the base of the building, you would expect to find a Geraldo Rivera opening Capone’s safe for the first time. Who knew hump day could be so enthralling? Mine certainly was, as I spent yesterday evening learning about Guinness from Guinness Master Brewer and resident Dubliner Fergal Murray himself.
